Jack Swagger Signs With Bellator

The trend of pro-wrestlers transitioning into MMA continues this week. The news broke earlier today on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour that Jack Swagger will be fighting under the Bellator promotion. Over a decade now we have seen this trend with Brock Lesnar, Dave Bautista and CM Punk being the headline names who have stepped in to the MMA world. Not all of them have seen success. Swagger will be competing in the Heavyweight division. No date or timeline was specified for Swagger.

9-Year WWE employee Jack Swagger got released from WWE earlier this year in March, after being off TV for a significant amount of time. His last in-ring appearance for WWE was in January. Since his release he has been taking indie wrestling bookings, with a more recent appearance being at Cow Palace last Friday. Swagger had been a long-time amateur wrestler, starting at age 5, and continuing until senior year at University of Oklahoma.

The blossoming or the opposite of the MMA career of Jack Swagger will be covered right here, on WrestlingHeads.com.
