Hello and welcome to our very first #TBT feature here at WrestlingHeads! Each week, I will take a match from out of the vault, give a short run up to the match, and then provide a link to the match. So let’s get right into it…

10/31/1998 – All-Japan Triple Crown Championship: Kenta Kobashi (c) vs. Mitsuharu Misawa

Let me start off with a disclaimer: Mitsuharu Misawa is my favorite wrestler of all time. As in, ever. In the entire history of the business. But even if he wasn’t, I would still say this is one of the best matches I have ever seen.

Kobashi had won the title for the second time a few months earlier in a war against Toshiaki Kawada, and had made 2 defenses since, against a young Jun Akiyama and Kawada’s frequent tag team partner Akira Taue. For his third defense though, he would have to try to turn back the challenge of his friend and frequent tag team partner, Misawa. And what a battle it turned out to be. Many people have said that this may be one of the greatest matches on the entire 1990s. I wanna know how YOU guys feel about it though so check it out below, and then tweet me at the handle above!
